Appeal to Support a vEdic School

We have started a vEdic School on July 22nd, 2005 near bhadrAchalam (a pilgrimage center in AP, India where Saint rAmadAs sang of shrI rAma) for poor students in India. While Sri Sastry and Vamsee maintain this website out of their pockets, donations are sought for providing free education to deserving students in the vEdic school. Those who find our site useful are encouraged to make a donation of atleast $1 for each download, if it is within their means. Any other creative ways of participation in this effort are encouraged.

Your contributions will be gratefully received at:

About Vedamantram

vEda literally means Knowledge. The audio files in the following links present you the Knowledge as discovered by the vEdic R^iShis (Seers). shruti (right intonation) is extremely important for the recitation of the vEda. Please do not attempt to learn the mantras from the audio without the guidance of a qualified guru, since a mantra by definition should only be recited according to the right shruti. However, feel free to learn the stotras as they are not bound by shruti. The vEda mantras have been passed down orally for more than 6000 years without any change, either in their intonation or the content. The vEdas are the basis for the world's oldest and continuous civilization arising out of bhAratavarSha (India).

vEda dhvani (Sound of the vEda ) gives peace of mind when listened with reverence and renders the mind fit for contemplation. Please listen to these very sacred mantras with a clean body and a pure mind to enhance your spiritual progress.

Note: We have followed the ITrans scheme to transliterate Samskrita words in English letters to accurately represent Samskrita letters.

vEda mantras

  • puruSha sUktam (temporarily down)
  • ghanam (vEda mantram recited in the pattern 12-21-123-321-123-23-32-... temporalily down)

Stotras on shiva

Stotras on dEvi

  • dEvI khaDgamAla (temporarily down)

Stotras on viShNu
